- Wonder Boys–Michael Chabon
- 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles of Portland– Paul Gerald
- The Dharma Bums– Jack Kerouac
- Green Hills of Africa– Earnest Hemingway
All of these books inspire me… Here’s why: Wonder Boys speaks to the writer inside of me, and Kerouac’s, Dharma Bums, speaks to the side of me desiring an unorthodox brand of freedom. Hemingway speaks to the traveler/adventurer that I dream about becoming, and 60 Hikes is the first answer to that desire. I’m also reading Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, but I find it only speaks to the moody narcissist within so I didn’t put it in the picture.
What are you reading? How is it speaking to you?

Reading “Jesus: A Revolutionary Biography” by Dominic Crossan. Learning more about first century (and a few centuries surrounding it) Mediterranean anthropology through this book and it’s radically shaping the lens through which I see much of the New Testament.
